Charles's Story
Life
United States Marine Corps officer. Name in high school, was CHARLES ANTKOWSKI, changed to Charles CAMERON in 1957. Left high school to join the United States Marine Corps in 1952. Graduated from Allegheny High School in 1955 after completing requirements through the Marine Corps Institute. Which allowed me to go on to earn two degrees and finish my Marine Corps career as a Marine Corps officer. Served in Korea and Vietnam with First and Third Marine Divisions. Traveled and lived in Japan, the Mediterranean and parts of South East Asia. Retired after 25 years active Marine Corps service in 1977. Have four children, all with graduate degrees from schools including Cornell and Boston University, five grandchildren and two Shih Tzu dogs who think they are people.
If I have regrets it is not maintaining the friendships I had while growing up in Pittsburgh's North Side and being dumped by a pretty Troy Hill gal while on leave from the Marine Corps. But that's OK since a few years later I married a beautiful gal from Cleveland Ohio whom I met while there on recruiting duty for the United States Marine Corps. But I sure miss some of the guys and especially gals I knew way back. Hope all are healthy and well and have all the love they can handle.
