Charles's Story
At Troy High School, I was a nerd who spent most of my time on the second floor, eating carrot strips from my pocket, and staying to myself. My favorite teachers were Mr. Fenner, Mr. Tabor, and Mrs. Johanneson. Those that had the greatest influence on my life, in retrospect, were Mr. Lage, Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Lazorshak.
Considering that it has been almost forty years, I have very fond and hazy memories of Troy High with little regard to the facts. I am very interested in connecting with people who would like to talk about their lives today while remembering a fond yesterday.
We started out together, and then we have each had our own wonderful odyssey with failures and successes and unexpected detours. We are all very different from those days and have greatness to offer each other. Our past is what made us. I ask you, with great intrigue, to share your experiences with someone who remembers only your innocent and idealistic beginnings.
Who would believe that I was able to retire in just thirty years from commencement? It is so true what they said, you do not graduate out of ...Expand for more
high school; rather you commence your life anew!
I am very happily married to my fourth fiancé and second wife. I look at it as I am enjoying a successful marriage as opposed to I had three failures. I kept doing what was good and changed what did not work. These adjustments allow me to enjoy my life with my lovely bride.
The biggest surprise, so far, is that I have outlived my parents and brother. I have dealt with mortality and statistics everyday of my actuarial career and I know any occurrence happens with calculated surety. As such, any event can be handled objectively, except, when the event is personal. This is now part of my life and I shall use the advantages and overcome the emptiness.
If you remember me, let us share our current life stories with friends from our more innocent and idealistic period. This would be just a comfortable chat with an old friend, no big life-changing event. We can never go back to those days of our youth, but let us escape the pressures of our daily lives to remember and talk with those who share the same beginnings.
I await your move.
