Charles's Story
After high school I started at USL studying Electrical Engineering, and then transferred to LSU. After I finished up my degree in electrical engineering at LSU I was drafted and spent 4 years in the Air Force at the Air Force Weapons Laboratory in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I met and married my wife, Sharon while I was there. We've been married over forty years; have two children and two grand children.
When I got out of the Air Force in 71 Sharon and I spent 3 months bumming around Europe with a Frommer's Europe on $5 a day book. We managed to do it on $19 a day (boy have prices changed.) and caught a serious travel bug. Then, I went to Law School at Stetson in Florida for a year then transferred to the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. After graduation in 1974 I practiced law in Albuquerque ...Expand for more
until 2001 when we retired.
Our second kid finished college that year. While we traveled every year on our vacation we never got over the travel bug. So, when we retired, we sold everything we owned and became vagabonds. We have been traveling the world since 2001. We've been to every continent, over 100 countries and every state.
Our first grand kid was born in June 07 and the second May 2009. One kid lives in Bentonville, Arkansas and the other in Santa Rosa, California, so now that we have grand kids we're starting to spend time around them a lot. Plus, we've seen most of what we wanted to see and are starting to tire of full time travel.
We're currently wandering around New England. Planning on making our 50 th high school reunion in October. The adventure continues.
Fond regards, Charles
