Charles's Story
I got on here to try to maby get in touch with some of the people that I knew way back to not so way back. From first and second grade in Perryton Tx., I moved to Dalhart Tx. to attend third and fourth grade, then to Amarillo Tx. to attend fifth thru seventh grade and then on to Albq. N.M. for ninth grade, back to Amarillo and attended freshman thru senior year of high school at Canyon High. I moved to Lubbock Tx. from Amarillo with the C.R. Anthony co. From Lubbock I was transferred to Seguin Tx. for about a year then back to Lubbock. In 1987 C.R. Anthonys sold and our family decided to leave our jobs and start our own business. We packed up and moved to Wichita Ks. to start our own clothing store called Eastons Apparel. We opened an Eastons in Lawrence Ks. around 1989 and another Eastons in Wellington Ks. in 92 or 93. existing business in Stillwater Ok. called Bates Bros. My Mother and Father moved to Stillwater in 1996 to manager that store. We closed Wellington in 1997, and closed our Wichita store in 1999, I then moved to Stillwater to help with the store there. My brother Greg closed his Eastons in Lawrence Ks. in 2004. In July of 2006 we decided to sell our building in Stillwater and close our business there. We had a successful sale and packed up and moved to Lawrence Ks. to be close to My brother and his awseome family! Mom and Dad retired but I still needed a job so after taking a few months off, we decided to open another store in downtown Lawrence Ks. called campuscloth.com, selling K.U. apparel and jeans in a physical location and on the web. I sure hope that I'm here for a while because sometimes I've wandered, how many more towns until I'm there!
