BA, University of Michigan. Political Science. Did the 4.5 year program as I spent too much time screwing around as a Freshman and Sophmore......but have to admit I had a great time.
MBA, George Mason University in VA. Terrific case-based approach to generalist MBA. Best 18 months of study in my life.
Workplace
After getting out of the Army and completing my MBA, did the corporate cycle in Northern VA leading up to the dot-com bomb. Started off with 18 months of purgatory in Govt contracting....then was forutnate to get into MCI. Had a terrific 5 year run there...classic story of hope for opportunity that drove long weeks (60+) which yielded results which were event...Expand for more
ually materially recognized. Left to take over as CIO for a small telecom company when MCI decided to sell out to Bernie Ebbers....may he enjoy his stay in the Oklahoma Penitentiary. After a short stint at that small telco, went to Nextel to run their front end systems group.....a great 18 months. Left to go settle down....another story.
Military
Served 6 years in the US Army.
>>4 years in Field Artillery assigned to the 1st Squadron, 3rd ACR in Ft. Bliss, Texas. Was FIST Chief, XO of How Btry, 1/3 FSO and finally the S1.
>>2 years Special Forces assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group out of Ft. Bragg, NC. Was B Co XO and then Commander of ODA 746 (A Team).
