Charles's Story
After high school, I went into the army for 2 years and ended up back in Corpus Christi. After working on motorcycles, then RV's and boats for Del-Air, I went back to school, in Tulsa in 1980.
Transferred to San Antonio in 81 and graduated in 81. I worked at NAS Corpus from 82 thru 85 when the contract Beech AeroSpace and the Navy ended.
I worked for Lockheed in Atlanta for a while before moving to Orlando in 87.
Orlando had the same weather and nice people that Corpus has. It was not easy to leave, But I had a job offer from United in 87-89 and finially took the leap to United in 1989.
I worked in northern Virginia from 89 thru 2003.
In the Chicago area now, and winter never seems to be far away and it is cold 7-8 months a year here. However, the summer time is simply fant...Expand for more
astic.
I hope to retire to Corpus Christi or the Houston area around September 2015.
update 7-12-2014
I'm still working the midnight shift at United Airlines, still single, and still loving the summer weather. I'm starting to travel more, as I am looking to nail down where I want to retire. May have to have a summer home up north, and a winter home in Texas. I'd love to find a lake with tall trees around the shoreline. A place I can raise a few chickens/turkeys more as pets than dinner.
UPDATE:
As of September I am retired and I've been traveling around in a motor home. So far, I have been staying in the flat states. The states with hills and bumps will be starting next year in the spring. I'm staying around Houston until I find somewhere else to park when I'm not traveling..
