Charles T.'s Story
Life
After graduating from U of H, I worked in the hotel and restaurant industry for some 18+ years. Made a career change in 1998 and became an MCSE(Microsoft Certified Service Engineer) and have not looked back. I now work as a System Administrator, responsible for 3 data centers, hosting 300 servers of which 40% are virtualized.(Quite a bit of mumbo jumbo, but I love it) I an married to wonderful and loving woman, Marianne. We have two sons, Christopher Michael, born in 1979, and Michael Anthony, born in 1986. In December of 2006, my wife and I recieved our Masters in Pastoral Studies, and in February 2007, I was ordained a Permanent Deacon in the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston, by then Archbishop Daniel DiNardo. My oldest son who was in the seminary at the time served as one of the Acolytes during my ordination. A few months later Christopher was ordained as a "Transitional Deacon" and I had the opportunity to help vest him. On May 31, 2008, Christopher was ordained as a priest in the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston by Archbishop Daniel "Cardinal" DiNardo. I recieved the privilege of sitting at the Cardinal's right side and calling forward the 4 young men who would be ordianed as Priests, one of which was my oldest son,...Expand for more
Christopher. In his homily Cardinal DiNardo shared with the 2000 or so gathered for this wonderful event that the deacon that called out the names of the four young men was the father of Christopher. A beautiful ovation took place and then Cardinal DiNardo addressed my son with these words, "Chris, today you will be ordained a priest, but remember he will always be your Father." The Cathedral gathering bursted out in laughter. For now I am assigned to St. Laurence Parish in Sugar Land, TX and Father Christopher is assigned to Sacred Heart Parish in Conroe, TX.
As for my youngest son, Michael, he is currently working part time and attending the Uinversity of Houston as he works towards a degree as a Pharmacist. He also helps out as a Sacristan at our Parish on the weekends. As for my wife, she gets to rest on most Sundays, since "the boys" are out at Church. Marianne has truly been a blessing to me and my sons and I will always owe a great amount of debt to God for this beautiful gift of my wife of 31+ years. I also owe a tremendous amount to Marianne, who has stood by me through the difficult "storms" of life and whose prayers have filled our home and lives with love and humor. Thank you Jesus. "Jesus, I Trust in You."
