Charles's Story
College
After Colton High School, I enrolled in a small college, Multnomah, in Portland, Oregon. Because courses in chemistry were limited, I transferred to the University of Portland in my junior year where I complete the requirements for a BS degree. In 1958 through 1961 I was a full time staff member and part-time graduate student working on my PhD in biochemistry. I left OSU for an industrial job without completing the requirements for the doctorate, however I did finish my thesis and received by PhD from Oregon Graduate Institute and the University of Oregon in Eugene.. After four years of additional graduate school, I received my juris doctor (JD) in 1981. While I am a frequent lecturer at colleges and universities on the subjects of premises liability and human factors, I have no further formal education.
