Charlie White:  

Life I am alive and well and living in Birmingham, Alabama with Susan Hyde White (LHS Class of 1967), my wife of 55 years. After graduating from LSU in Economics in 1970, I had a 25 year career as a Director with BellSouth where I held several executive level positions at the company's headquarters in Birmingham, AL including Product Manager for the planning and roll out of the "new" line of Cellular telephones. During this time I completed courses of study at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania as well as at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. And somewhere during this time, I got interested in fitness and managed to run 5 marathons, a triathlon and another 100 or so other road races of varying lengths. But that was then and now is now. After leaving BellSouth, I owned and operated my own management consulting firm for five years after which I accepted the position of Director and member of the Executive Committee with a start-up telecommunications company for two years. I then spent about a year and a half semi-retired and looking for work in the Baton Rouge area, but that didn't pan out. So, back in 2001, I accepted a position as Director of Sales & Marketing with a large distributor of custom cabinet hardware and supplies here in B'ham. Unfortunately, because of the bad economy, this position was eliminated in 2009. Such is life.
