charlo's Story
March 5. Just returned from Bakersfield. It has experienced a growth spurt since high school. I was overcome by nostalgia. I drove by the homes I grew up in, my church (and the Foster's Freeze across the street ). Next by my schools. BHS looked very similar. I've posted a couple of pictures. Don't think I will be receiving any photo awards!
Still in California. After I graduated, I earned my degree in San Diego; then my teaching credential in Chico. My entire teaching career has been in beautiful Ventura. I've taught kindergarten though eighth grade, but mostly 6th -8th grade: reading, language arts, speech, and drama.Think: Friday, last period, ...Expand for more
8th graders reading several levels below expected, with the son of the president of the local chapter of a national motorcycle group, in the class.
After 22 years, I decided to change paths. I attended interior design school to receive my certificate.
Because I married late, no children=no grandchildren. I have 2 indoor cats and 1 semi-ferral outside cat.
These days, I spend my time with friends, reading, baking, cooking, and gardening. Also, way too much time on the Web (texting, emails, pinterest, flipboard, candy crush, and on and on).
I hope I will be able to attend our 50th reunion.
I would enjoy hearing from my school and church friends.
