Cheri's Story
After high school I worked for awhile. Then I started studying and got a work study job in the financial aid office at Lansing Community College in 1987. I have been working in the financial aid industry ever since.
In 1991 my sister was working over in London, England when my mom and I went to visit her around Christmas. I loved it over there so much I looked to see what I had to do to study over there. I enrolled at Michigan State as a history major and did a Study Abroad at Cambridge University for the summer of 1992.

Study Abroad program through MSU, this time at University of London and University of Edinburgh. Before starting classes that summer, I took three weeks to travel to Greece, Italy, Austria, and France, and then I took a week after to travel around Britain. One of the best times of my life! I graduated from MSU in 1994.
I moved to Atlanta in 1995. Met my future husband there in 1998 and we were married in 2000. We welcomed a son in 2001 and moved to North Carolina in 2002. We welcomed a daughter in 2004, and moved to South Carolina in 2005.
