Cheri's Story
I was that little shy blonde girl who attended Emerson Elementary from Kindergarten to 8th grade and lived on Glastonbury. I only attended 1 year at Henry Ford High when my family moved to Long Beach California where I graduated from Wilson High School. I married, had 3 children (2 boys and 1 girl), divorced and raised the kids on my own. I then married again a man who had 4 children which then gave us 7 kids all together. I always wanted a large family but didn't know about all the trials and drama that goes with it.
After the kids were all moved out and hopefully on their own, I took some me time and went back to school to achieve my AA degree in Law. We now have 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren scattered all over the United States. My second oldest son is active duty Army (20 yrs in) and is currently serving in Iraq for his 4th tour of duty. We constantly ask for prayers for the safety of him and...Expand for more
all our troops in the "Hot Zones". As the "Golden" years approached us, California became heavy on the pocketbook so we relocated to the fine state of Georgia. My husband's background was with Aero-Space and Electrical Engineering. Recently he accepted a position at the Little Rock Arkansas Air Force Base as their Energy Manager for the base. So, we packed up our Georgia Historical home, put it up for sale and are now living in Arkansas on the Air Base. This is a major change for us, but military life is not unfamiliar to either of us as my husband was in the Navy during Viet Nam and I was a volunteer with the Navy for the United States Sea Cadet program. What can I say - life has been exciting! I'm hoping to reconnect with some of the friends that I had at Emerson, Henry Ford and Wilson High. I also knew quite a few folks who attended Redford High School. Drop my a line and let me know what's up with ya'all.
