Life
My Spouse
is my high school sweetheart from Fox High, Kirby Newbury. We got back together 16 years after Graduation and it feels like we were never apart.
My Kids
I have two sons...Will and Mike Waldheuser. My husband has two daughters...Jessica Newbury and Jennifer Newbury. And now three grandbabies - Hailey, Kirsten and Jackson, all Jennifers children.
My Job
Co-Founder of DiscountCoffee.com and acting President since 1998. Started out of our home and it is now a located in St. Peters, Mo. I was a manager for The Home Depot for five years in Missouri. A manager for Walmart for 10 years. A manager for Venture Stores for 5 years.
My Education
Graduated from the University of MO in 1982 with a double major in Merchandising and Marketing. This is where I meet Sam Walton (a guest speaker) in my Marketing 101 class.
My Favoite Story
Sam must of liked what he saw, because he had a job waiting for me the day I graduated. He had followed my grades and in...Expand for more
terest at college and I never even knew. I almost went to Vet. school but could not pass a foriegn language and had to change my major to Marketing. Any way, back to the story. I walked into the interview room and was told "I'm glad your here, I was not going to get to leave today until I got you hired. You start with Wal-Mart in Fulton, MO on June 18th. Here is the hiring packet, have it filled out and turn it in to the store manager there when you report." The hiring manager then packed up his stuff and left. I never even asked what my starting salary was to be. I never regretted working for Wal-Mart, nor the friendship that developed over the years with Sam. He came to see me just a few weeks before he passed away at my store in Ohio. We had breakfast at Cracker Barrel - we both had oatmeal. He toured my store for the last time, and told me he was proud of all I had accomplished and to never let anyone or anything stand in my way. He is still missed.
