Cheryl's Story
Life
After we graduated high school in 1992 I got married in 1993 at only the age of 19. I had my first baby at the age of 21, and last child at the age of 25. By age 27 I got divorced from my first husband. Then things started looking up for me...by age 28 I was married to the most wonderful man who I am married to still today. My two daughters are wonderful (born in 1995 and 1998) and I also have a Basset Hound named Ben. Both of my kids have ADHD which is the norm for our household since everyone at our house has it. Now at only 41 years old I am the mother of a 15 year old daughter and an 19 year old daughter! Blows my mind to think about that!
I moved to the Great North Woods of New Hampshire in of June 2009 and in 2010 I moved to Maine. In 2013 I bought my 1st home in the Western Mountain area of Maine and my family and I love it here.
School
I struggled with school both socially and with academics. Later I found out I have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder a.k.a. ADHD which was not discovered until I was in my early 20's which explaine...Expand for more
d a lot of the reasons for my struggles. In my 30's I attended Penn Foster Distance Learning Course for Vet Assisting and Graduated their program with an A Average. I also performed an internship in veterinary assisting at Sylvan Animal Clinic in Fall River. I am no longer working in the field.
PERSONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
May 12, 2012 I decided once and for all to get my eating disorder under control. I have always been heavy and at that time my weight ballooned up to 290 pounds. As of September 2014 I have been successful at losing weight. In total I have lost 134 pounds and counting. I went from a size 24 pants to the smallest size I have ever worn, a size 8. It is a happy time for me.
College
I briefly went to Fisher College in Boston for a few months but almost died from a stomach illness called camplibactor so I quit college at that time. I was never big on formal education so I never went back. I have to work a lot harder now because of that choice but spending time with my family and friends ranks higher then having a huge bank balance for me.
