Her voice is strong yet soothing and her performances dynamic and mesmerizing. The daughter of a classical singer and vocal music teacher, Shell's vocal talent is inherent. Singing as an alto in her church choir fostered her love of music. She began taking violin lessons at age eight and continued through age fifteen. began writing music and lyrics. Performances at venues such as Alvins and the Detroit Public Library lead to Shell's eventual association with several performance groups. Music became her passion and any place from street corners to dance floors became her stage. This singer/songwriter/guitarist is a native Detroiter performing in the local coffee house and outdoor festival circuits for the last few years. Performances include The 1998 Ann Arbor Art Fairs and the 1998 Hamtramck Labor Day Festival, where she opened for Sixpence None the Richer. Her most recent performances include the opening of the Barnes and Noble in Royal Oak, MI.
