Chip's Story
All through school, I was known as Chip Ulrich; now I go by my given name of Victor Ulrich.
I graduated from Seaholm high school in 1968.
After a brief time in college, I dropped out and enlisted in the Air Force where I served for 4 years. During those 4 years, I got married.
After the A.F., I went back to college and received a degree in Broadcast Electronics Technology at what was then Ferris State College.
In 1977, I started working for Burroughs Corporation as a Field Engineer, working on computers and peripherals.
1978 found me divorced which was long overdue and very welcome.
I again got married in 1982 and have stayed married ever since to the same great woman.
In 1989, I was layed-off from what is now called Unisys Corporation. I sold insurance for about 2 years and ...Expand for more
then actually worked as a maintenance man in a Mickey D's.
I self-taught myself on PC's, etc and spend a good deal of time 'playing' with our computers and also assisting friends' with theirs.
In the fall of 1993, I had a mild stroke which has left me with some vision impairment, but I've learned to adapt.
Since 2002, I've been a 'professional' volunteer at Crittenton Hospital, here in Rochester, MI. My wife and I live less than 2 miles from Crittenton, in Rochester Hills.
Many of you also recognize my name as my father *Victor F. Ulrich, Sr.) taught for a gazillion years as Seaholm, too. My father passed away in 1980 and my mother followed in 1986.
My wife and I have no kids, but do have a Husky which we adopted from the Humane Society; she's a real sweet companion to have around.
