Life Where to begin? Is there life after Saunders? heck yeah - especially if you were a scrawny little nerd that no one remembers. :) After Saunders, I decided to move to Scotland to go to university - ended up at Aberbeen University. Like a good geek, I studied engineering. However, I also discovered the sports of rugby and rowing (crew). This was how I became de-geeked (I know it's not a real word, but bear with me). From there, went to Cambridge where i did a PhD in crytography. That was pretty fun. Still played rugby and rowed a lot. Couldn't let the nerd side win totally after all. After that, moved to the U.S. for the beginning of the "dot com boom." Lived like a rockstar for a few years. When the bubble burst, well, so did my investments. But that's okay, I'm still doing pretty good. I work as an independent contractor in the field of cyber security. Basically i'm a pseudo-hacker but i do it for various US Gov't agencies. It's actually pretty fun and i don't have to worry about being arrested. For those geeks who might actually be reading this - i even won CTF at DefCon X. (that's kinda like the hacker superbowl for you normal people) These days I spend most of my free time doing volunteer firefighter stuff. I'm still training to become a "HTR" (Heavy Tactical Rescue) Specialist. We're the guys that repell of buildings, do confined space and swift water rescue stuff. It's really fun. The other day I had the honour of doing helicopter hoist rescue training with the US Park Police Rescue Team. It was real fun (well except for that one landing (from a rope). No injuries though!
