Chris's Story
College
I stepped onto the campus of Abilene Christian University intending to stay for only a year to satisfy my parents' ultimatum. I did not embrace the Christian lifestyle that the campus offered...though I tried to be involved in different "student life" activities (student government, intramurals, etc.).
When I left for the summer I had plans of working for a year and then transferring to a state school. But the summer opened up my eyes to how badly I needed the Christian environment that ACU offered. I fell into a rotten group of folks who encouraged me to try and find a variety of ways to be "happy" and to "feel good."
By the time summer was over I NEEDED to get back to ACU. When I returned for my sophomore year I began to embrace the things that ACU offered. I went on Spring Break campaigns in order to share Jesus with others. I became involved in Wildcat Kids -- an ACU version of Big Brothers/Big Sisters in Abilene.

n more importantly I found someone who challenged me (and continues to challenge me) to be a better man of God.
ACU means so much to me that in July of 2003 I went back to work for the school. I work in the Alumni office, and hope to finish my career working in Student Life here on the campus.
Workplace
Since July 2003 I've worked in the Alumni Office at Abilene Christian University. My title is "Alumni Outreach," and my objective is to find alumni volunteers to help recruit students to ACU. It's a fun job, and being on a University campus has helped me regain my youth. Now if it could only help me regain my hair!!!
Before this I worked at Electronic Data Systems in Plano. I sold a data processing system to the credit union industry. My job took me all across the Midwest -- from Minnesota to Pennsylvania. I loved the travel, but being away from my family was a drag. So when the opportunity came available at ACU we jumped on it.
