I went to BCC for a year while I lived at home and saved up to attend USF with Teresa D'Abruzzo and Beth Ann Barrenger. I majored in Mass Communications and Public Relations and settled in Tampa after graduation. My first job was with the Florida Council on Economic Education on the USF campus. A year later I discovered the world of health care PR and marketing and spent 10 years with Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), had my own consulting firm and worked for American Medical International (AMI) and Tampa General Hospital. After six years in government, I re-entered corporate America where I have managed corporate communications, public relations and marketing for an integrated dental services company, a stem cell bank and a pharmacy benefits management firm. All the while, I pursued a variety of interests, including Springsteen concerts, scuba diving, sky diving, zip lining and world travel. I frequently did volunteer work with chambers and non-profits. I later managed healthcare accounts for a global public relations agency which involved a good bit of travel. I have one son, Logan, who was born in 1999. I retired to the mountains in Panama in 2018 and continue my world travels from this beautiful country.
