Chris's Story
Life
I joined the Marine Corps at 18 years old six days after graduating High School. Since then I have divided my time between Southern California, and the beautiful desert getway known as Iraq. I have completed two combat deployments.
I reported in to my current unit in December of 2002. After one month with then in February 2003 I was deployed to Iraq. During my units 8 month vacation to the sand box we recieved the Presidential Unit Citation for actions on the objective while taking control of ...Expand for more
a Southern Iraqi oil refinery. Our first mission on our push to Baghdad. During my second deployment we were tasked with running the border patrol station in Western Iraq, in the town of Husaybah, which borders Syria.
Now after two combat deployment and 3 1/2 years I will be getting out of the Marine Corps in May. I am planning to drive truck for Werner Enterprises as a company driver. I haven't decided whether or not I am going to go back to Washington or spend some more time in Southern California.
