Chris's Story
Life
Been a while since I updated this, so let's do that...
Let's see -- the basics:
Current status (1/2009): Married (9 yrs - 1st mariage), 2 stepkids (1 home, 1 nearby), 1 granddaughter; live back in "Michiana" area (Elkhart), work as Controls/Automation Engineer in Buchanan, MI (of all places!), and am also now working on my MBA at IUSB.
Kind of a weird, strange, and winding road to get where I am today. After high school, I was given a scholarship to WMU, but my initial college experiment sort of quickly fizzled out (it seems they expected you to actually go to classes). But after struggling as a guitarist and retail worker, I went back to school part-time mid-80's much more motivated (this time I was paying for it myself!). I ultimately got my BSEE from GMI Engineering & Mangagment Institute (now "Kettering University") in 1990. ...Expand for more
Since high school, I've lived in Kalamzoo, Lansing, Flint, Detroit area (Warren & Troy), South Bend and now Elkhart. I've also had several long-term relationships, but was never married until I returned to this area and met a great woman -- we were married in 2000.
All in all, I've gone through a lot of growth from the slacker/stoner kid I was in high-school, and have been a musician, salesman (inside and direct), telemarketer, house painter, retail store manager, draftsman/detailer, electrical panel-wirer, computer technician, industrial PLC programmer, database programmer, automation engineer, church deacon, and now a husband and step-father. I've also started my part-time MBA at IUSB, and am looking to finish in a few years.
