Chris's Story
I got married (way too young) in 1969. Had 2 sons, Justin (1970) & Christopher Erik (1972). Trudy and I divorced in 1978. The boys stayed with me. Around that time, I met Patti. We became friends. It slowly grew into love and we were married in 1985. Our daughter, Ashley, was born in 1988. I guess we weren't too careful because we were surprised by a son 14 months later. His name is Nicholas.
From the time I graduated from Canoga Park High, I had pretty much stayed in the Valley until about 1971. That's when Trudy, Justin and I moved to Hutchinson, KS. Hated the weather, so moved again in '73 to Prineville, OR. That didn't work out either so we went back to the SFV. Stayed there until my divorce.
I moved up to Canyon Country (close to Magic Mountain) with Patti and my boys. Around the time that Ashley was born, our house skyrocketed in price, so we thought it would be a great time to "get out of LA." We chose Sparks, NV.
Justin had joined the ...Expand for more
Marines and was involved in "Desert Storm". When he left the service, he chose to return to the Santa Clarita Valley, where he still lives with his wife, Deanne.
Meanwhile, our family in Nevada grew to four again with the arrival of Nick. We stayed there until Aug 2005. I had lost my job, but once again the price of our house had jumped to almost double of what we paid. So we packed up and moved to Albuquerque. This time it was Erik's turn to stay. He still lives in the Reno area with his wife Sharon and daughter, Hannah.
We chose New Mexico because my folks have lived here for quite awhile. My sister, Jan also lives here with her husband, kids and grand kids. (Also, the housing is inexpensive, and we thought maybe we could get lucky in the housing market one last time) Boy! This turned out to be really long. It was only supposed to be a short note. But with a little encouragement from Patti, it became the "short version" of my life after high school.
