Chris's Story
After MDHS and four years at USC, I was so attracted to urban ghetto schools I got an MBA at Columbia. Spent 15 years in NY working on Wall Street, doing all sorts of mathematical investing things and being an early player in electronic trading. Then spent 13 years in Boston growing a big investment management and brokerage business. Finally retired at 51 due to a strong dislike for hi-level corporate politics. Started a private equity firm with great people which has been successful enough to let me retire again at 57. is allows me to spend a lot of time with my 12 year old daughter, and probably more time with my wife than she'd like--hell for women is having a husband who retires too early. Haven't cut those East Coast ties--we spend our summer on Cape Cod, just because we miss the humidity.
Life is simple--lots of skiing and golf, thinking about investments for a long retirement, charitable interests in transformational education (like we got at MDHS?), social services to give every kid a chance at realizing dreams, reading (books as well as the internet), and generally trying to change the workd, whether it needs it or not.
