Chris's Story
I started elementary school in the small community of Encino in South Texas. We lived in the oil camp "Alta Mesa" We had friends who lived in the Kelsey Bass Oil Camp. My last name at that time was Reese. We left Encino in 1968 and moved to Wink, where I finished my high school education. Along the way, my last name changed to Oliver. After HS, I attended Western Texas College in Snyder and then Howard Payne University in Brownwood. to finish my bachelor's degree. I met and married my wife (Arlene) at Howard Payne. We relocated to the Ft. Worth area where I worked for Nationsbank and CPS. My wife, teenage daughter and I moved to Snyder in 2006. It is great to be back in a small community after spending 20 years in the Ft. Worth area. Life here is so much slower paced. Our lives revolve around Snyder High School and all the activities for Beth. We stay very busy. I've worked for Child Protective Services for almost 16 years. Arlene works for MHMR. Life is good.
