CHRIS's Story
I married Joy Collins, class of 1980, on May 20, 1982 and have been married to her ever since. Together, we raised 3 children. I now have 6 grandchildren. During this time of raising children, I worked16 years in Upper Marlboro Maryland running a convenient store that was owned by two partners, each one owning other businesses. One partner had a used furniture warehouse and the other one owned an automotive repair shop, a radiator shop, a body repair shop, a towing company, and many real estate properties. During this time, I worked for these businesses after finishing working in the convenient store. I put in many hours during this time. The convenient store was sold in 1998 and I began a career with the Maryland Judiciary beginning as the courier and working my way up to the Deputy Chief of the civil division for the District Court of Maryland for Prince Georges County also in Upper Marlboro Maryland before retiring at the age of 55. brother in law and cousin's company, South County Home Improvements, LLC, doing construction work. During this time, we installed Pella windows for Camp David, the Department of Homeland Security, Marymount University, and the Department of Agriculture along with many residential jobs throughout Southern Maryland and Herrington Harbor in Tracey's Landing. I hurt my back and returned to the Maryland Judiciary in Annapolis Maryland. There I worked for the judiciary warehouse receiving and distributing computer equipment and furniture all over the state of Maryland. I was also assigned to the judiciary fleet where I assigned and maintained the fleet of vehicles. After working there for five more years, I retired for the second time. Throughout our marriage, we have done a significant amount of traveling. We have traveled to England, Germany, France, Ireland, Poland, and the Netherlands as well as traveling the east coast of the US. Life's been good to me so far as performed by Joe Walsh in 1978.
