Life and Work After High School, I moved to Logansport to live and work and was there for about 12 years. In 1989 I moved back to the Cloverdale area. While in Logansport I worked as a Restaurant Manager for Burger Chef / Hardee's restaurants from January 1976 to May 1979. I worked at the stores located in Logansport, Monticello, Peru, Rochester and three locations in Ft. Wayne. While in Monticello, as Manager at Burger Chef, we opened the first drive through window at a fast food restaurant in northern Indiana, in which we made over one million dollars in one week during the summer, considering that Indiana Beach was just down the road. From May 1988 to May 1989 I worked for Hardees as Manager in Rockville. From May 1979 to May 1988, I worked at the Logansport State Mental Hospital for the Department of Mental Health. In July 1989 I started working for the Indiana Department of Correction, in Putnamville as a Correctional Officer. I am currently the Administrative Assistant. Early in 1990 I started donating some free time, helping the Departments K-9 team and in April 1991, I joined the team full time. My First dog was an Akita, which I received in May 1991 and I named Zera. She was used for protection. In June 1993 I was chosen to handle the facilities first Narcotic Dog. Ringo was an 18 month old Belgium Malinois (breed of dog) and he and I were certified on 4 different Narcotics in 4 different areas, through the Indiana Police Work Dog Association, and North American Police Work Dog Association. My partner (Ringo) and I were the best in our field, receiving many citations through out the state and national level. After working hard and learning many things about training dogs, in March 2000 I was promoted to K-9 Field Commander, in charge of the 13 Handler/Dog Team.
