Chris's Story
Workplace
Started driving a truck in Brooklyn, working for Friedman's Express till they went out of business then Tose-Fowler Trucking and St. Johnsbury Trucking till they went belly up also. In 1993, moved to upstate New York to a little town called LaGrange (about 10 miles east of Poughkeepsie, NY) so I can drive "over the road" for Yellow Freight Systems in Maybrook, NY.

ght deemed it necessary to layoff a lot of it's work force in Nov. 2001.
Faced with not having a job for the upcoming Holidays I went out looking for gainful employment. On February 11, 2002 I interviewed with the New York State Department Of Transportation and by 2/13 was working as a Highway Maintainance Worker in Region 8-2 Fairview. So with 20 years as a Teamster truck driver, I retired and started a whole new career.
