Christina's Story

Life After graduation, I went straight to Liberty University in Lynchburg VA. I decided on a math major and I completed my degree requirements in three years. My fourth year at LU I completed two minors (both were easy yet also interesting -- psychology and history). On May 3, 1997 I graduated with a 3.53 (Cum Laude) from LU with a BS in Mathematics. I made it into two honor societies and was on the dean's list. From there I went to work for Veda/Veridian, where I worked for 2.5 years on the F/A-18E/F (Superhornet) program. I worked for Sierra Mngmnt and Tech. on the C-40A program. Now I work as a GS for the Fed Gov't (DoD) in Ballistics. School I went to several elementary and middle schools. And I also went to three High Schools -- Chopticon, Oneonta (in NY), and Leonardtown High. I took all advanced subjects while in school and learned so much -- I only wish I could have spent more time getting to know the people. I loved the teachers and think fondly of my days at LHS. I hope to one day see everyone again and find out how everyone is doing. I graduated in 1993 (5th in my class) and spent the summer preparing for college. Then it was off to Liberty University. school but wasn't truly prepared for my time spent at LU. I loved every minute (well, mostly) spent at LU. I made some great friends, had some good roomies, and loved the professors there. I even got to see Rachel Allard for a while (she was a friend from High school who went there for a little while). I didn't do any dating and focused on my math major -- which I completed in 3 years. I even made an A in real analysis (surprise). I got two minors (history and psych) and finished them my senior year. Although I tried for grad school, I didn't make it in -- so it was off to the working world for me. Workplace After college, I went into the working world. The first few jobs were dead beat jobs. But then Dan Fluharty came to my rescue and helped me get a job with Veda. I worked as a config manag. analyst and as a junior engineer there for the E/F program. I then went onto bigger and better things with Sierra Management & Tech working on the C-40A program. Since funding was tight, I left there to work for the gov't as a GS'er as an Ops Research Analyst for AIR-4.11.2.1/Ballistics Branch. I currently do software testing for the Navy's mission planning systems. I am looking to move to NY or VA.
