Workplace
I love my field of work. My career as a Licensed Veterinary Technician is just what I had always wanted it to be. I got accepted straight from high school into tech school, and started working as a technician as soon as I graduated tech school in 2003.
I work at Mountain View Veterinary Hospital, a busy 4 doctor practice in Lacey that is one of the more technically advanced clinics in the area. We also do on-call emergency, and work with Animal Services (they bring us all the injured stray animals) which al...Expand for more
ways keeps us on our toes and keeps things interesting. I love being able to help people and their animals, and their is never a dull moment, it's a very rewarding career that I couldn't be happier with.
I would eventually like to work at a wildlife rehab center or something similar. Ever since I raised Serena the barn owl in vet tech school (Serena currently resides at Point Defiance Zoo) I've been hooked on working with wildlife.
For now though, I'm satisfied working with dogs and cats and all kinds of exotic pets.
