Christine (Kiki)'s Story
Life
I've been living in Ft Nelson, BC since 82 with my husband & 2 kids (16/19). After KCI I went to Lakehead University (Thunder Bay). In 1980, just before I graduated with a double major in Geography & Outdoor Recreation, I married a Lakehead forestry grad. We went on a 4 month honeymoon in our 1980 pick-up truck (that we still have) & a 2 man tent to explore N. Alberta, BC, the Yukon (up to Inuvik) & Alaska. In '82 we settled in Fort Nelson, BC (pop. 5,000) on the Alaska Highway (where BC, the Yukon & the NWT all join). We have been here ever since. d a llama. I was a lifeguard/Aquafit & Swimming Inst./Aerobics Inst. for 12 years but for the last 11 years I've been a highschool secretary so I can get the same holidays as the kids. Every summer, we spend 2 months at our log cabin in the Rocky Mountains at Toad River. There, we all white water kayak, rock climb, hike, canoe & mountain bike. My husband & I both drive motorcycles, are avid gardeners and bird watchers. In the winter we downhill ski/board, cross country ski, do woodworking & make all our own beer & wine. We go back to to Ontario every 4 years (or so) to visit my mom who lives in Moonstone.
College
Graduated in '81 from Lakehead U. with a double major in Outdoor Rec/Geography.
