Christine's Story

I'm 58, gonna be 59 in a few weeks, married to the best man that God ever created, with 4 wonderful sons, 39, 39, 33 and 29, with 15 grandchildren, 2 boys, 5 girls, and 8 step-grandchildren, and waiting patiently for the inevitable first GREAT-grandchild in the next couple years! I have 2 dau-in-law's (exes), and 2 brand NEW dau-in-law's (to my second and youngest), and 1 VERY happy S/O w/ my middle son, and my oldest granddaughter is married as well. I'm into scrapbooking, needlework, container gardening, reading and local politics. I used to say "I'm Pagan and proud of it", but I have been Born Again and have put all that kind of thing behind me. I rejoice that God has accepted this miserable heathen sinner and His Mercies surely are very great! My political views are becoming more conservative than they were before, especially the more I see of what's going on in DC these days, but we DO need to use our vast resources to address the invasive and life-sucking poverty creeping throughout this country; (along w/ killing some of this deadly red tape just to START a business, much less keep it running.) We do NOT need to be giving one red cent of our scarce money to any other country in this world. Not one. (It's a recession when your neighbor loses their job, it's a depression when you lose yours - Can I get an Amen on that?) We need to address human and civil rights; find and regain some of the dignity and honor our great country once stood for around the globe. But mostly, my newfound joy in the Lord is my consuming passion and I have made many new Christian friends on Facebook. My husband and I are both handicapped now, but we sure loved what we did before we couldn't do it anymore. (Going to the races of all kinds, local and nationwide, incl. NASCAR, fishing, camping, etc.) Lowell was doing security work (I had been too), and I was a cashier at Wal Mart. I know that sounds like no fun and tacky besides, but I thought it was a BLAST! I met SO many cool folks who came through my aisle, loved most of my co-workers and I worked every day at getting faster and faster and I loved a line that extended back into the racks of clothes - Black Friday and Black Saturday were tiring but a kicking challenge. :D Believe it or not, most folks are in a really good mood on...Expand for more
those days! Lowell's last job was as a "Mall Cop", but he was like me - we LOVE interacting w/ people. Story ideas from below. The people from my past who I'd most like to see again are all my friends, because I want to find out how every one has done in their lives, where they've been, what they've been up to, where they are now living and why, all kinds of stuff like that. Mostly just SHARE MEMORIES!!! I'd really love to find all those that bullied me and make peace between us all. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel it right out of town and add on a whole BUNCH of windows!. My dream home would be the underground home I've specifically designed to live out on the prairie and yet still have the whole front side windows, facing south-west, where the storms come from - that's the special part of my design. I USED to rent a basement (nay, cellar!) apartment, w/ "portholes" at ground level, but now we live on the 8th floor of a handicapped/elderly complex and live is SO much more beautiful ABOVE the city, instead of from BELOW it! Life is full of friends and lots of stories about ourselves and a fair piece of gossip - gotta admit! (Confession being "good for the soul" and all that, ya know... LOL) If I won $100 million, I'd give 1/10th of it to church, then spend the rest on my mother, (not anymore, God rest her soul, went home to be with Dad on 4-25-2017) so I guess we'd save as much as we spendthrifts could for the inevitable day when my beloved precedes me in death, being gravely ill himself by now. We're pretty content with what we own, but I'd DANG sure pay someone to go through our overloaded storage bin, give away what's good and throw out the trash! After that, pay one of the ladies we know to come in and clean every week! Ah! What luxury! ;D I've lived in a dorm, but if I even remembered half of my memories, it would be a book! I've also belonged to an honor society, Phi Theta Kappa. It will always be one of my proudest accomplishments, but I was never really active in it, besides studying a lot to keep it! Those of you from WCA, please go to "We survived Washington College Academy (WCA)" on Facebook and share your memories. LOTS of folks are looking for you! We need you - not enough folks from our years for the memories, all younger folks!! LOL!
