Christine's Story
Life
Hello! It's hard to believe that it has been 20 years since graduation. The years have flown by. I went into the Air Force right out of school but was discharged within a few months due to some knee problems. Went into college and three years later went to work and haven't stopped. I'm married with no kids (I always told my mother I didn't want them and I was right) but have two [Update 3]grandchildren by marriage (great way - no stretch marks and they go home after we spoil them). Would love to hear from you - never heard of any reunions since the 5 year (didn't go). See you!! BELOW is UPDATES....
UPDATE: April 2006
I'm back - I've have moved to Jonesville Michigan and run South Central Michigan Works! which covers the three counties of Hillsdale, Jackson and Lenawee. My husband and I are traveling a lot or at least as much as work allows. I see that we are planning another reunion and I hope we are able to make it this time. Would love to catch up with everyone - drop a note if you have time - I am an email junkie.
School
If I could do it all over again - I really wouldn't. It's made me who...Expand for more
I am - for bad or good.
My craziest memory is when some guys put my "Pinto" on blocks in the parking lot.
College
This is where I would do it again if I could - I would spend more time taking advantage of the events happening on campus instead of working and spending weekends up north [with then boyfriend]. I also - knowing what I know now - have taken a lot of different types of classes.
Workplace
Where to start - after getting out of school I worked at Ludington State Park for the summer, got my own apartment and went wild - before I went into the Air Force in the fall. I wasn't in long and was honorably discharged and immediately enrolled in college and graduated in 1985 with a degree (BS) in Recreation Management. I worked in nursing homes (Social Worker Designee, Recreation Director), Insurance, Bartending/Waitressing, Senior Center(s) (Case Manager, Executive Director), Arthritis Foundation, Clinton Task Force on Employment (Executive Director) and finally South Central Michigan Works! (President).
Military
My memories are mostly negative - it was not a good experience for me at the time.
