Christine 's Story
I am living in Cuyahoga Falls in Summit County where I've been for over 25 years. I've been a stay-at-home Mom for the past 10 years since the summer of 2000 when my husband Jeff and I traveled to Central Siberia (Russia) to adopt 2 little girls, Aliana (now 16, then 6) and Olga (now 14, then 4). I became a new Mom at age 48 (whew !!) so the challenge of raising these girls has been enormous --- I am pretty exhausted most every night -- but now we cannot imagine our life without them ! My husband Jeff and I had done a fair amount of international traveling early in our marriage but we have kept the girls state-side since the adoption. We hope someday to return to Siberia with the girls 'just to visit' -- maybe they'll finally appreciate how much they've become "Suburban American Princesses' -- ha ha ! but never taught in any traditional educational setting ! Altho I worked on and off during the latter half of the '90's doing field research for Cleve. State U, the Univ. of Chicago, and the US Census Bureau, my last professional position was at Summit Co. Bd. of MR/DD, first as a Behavior Mgt. Consultant for the teachers and then as a case manager (or 'chaos manager' as I prefer to call it !) I'm starting to feel my advancing 'middle-age' these days -- I had to have my LT knee replaced last Spring and will soon need my RT knee replaced as well (sigh !) Over all these years, I've stayed in pretty close contact with Karen Hill who has been out in Phoenix AZ for about 28 years. The photo I posted on this webpage was from the last LA '69 reunion I made it to which was in 1995! 2018 UPDATE: I've been back taking classes at my alma mater Kent State for 2 years as a 'senior guest', and I love it ! Amazing what a huge difference 'no pressure' makes !
