Christine's Story
Life
I'm married to my second husband of 37 years and still like him! I have 3 kids the youngest 33, middle 35 the oldest 45. I have lived in Oregon for the 37 years I've known my hubby. I went back to school when I was 41 and took me 6 years but I got my RN's degree (: I worked as a community health nurse. Keeping the birth control down and stamping out the clap! LOL I believe in lots of humor to get through difficult times and try to give that to everyone around me. I enjoy life to the fullest. I like to snow shoe, garden, quilt, and just goof around. We moved to our cabin in Washington on 18 acres. I have put in a fruit orchard, small vineyard, large garden and greenhouse and many flowers. I may be 66 but I feel like I can still work hard, maybe take longer in the am to work out the kinks but once I am going I love to work in the dirt!
College
It was hard work and did it with fewer brain cells. 3.5 GPA Not bad for an old lady! (2.5 in high school) was 41. Went when kids were in school or at night part time till I had enough credits. Wanted to quit many times. It would be interesting to finish my education in Social Services but I think instead I will use my land as my next school. Piss on grades. The plants lives or it dies, my own grade system. I got my first grandchild last year. She is the best! I am hoping for more but will take what I get. I don't come on to classmates very often. In fact I am updating it as I was l...Expand for more
ike 62 or something in my profile. lol Time flies when your having fun. Husband was in Vietnam and suffer from Agent Orange diseases. He has defied death several times so I am thinking we will get to the 40 year mark no sweat! We live in the mountains 25 minutes from town and I mean town. About quarter the size of Ojai. If we need to go to VA it takes nearly 2 hours but we would not live anywhere else. We both love it here. We go on road trips with friends. Every year Bob's old time friends come from everywhere and we meet up here then drive to the coast at the mouth of the Columbia River to fish for salmon off the North jetty of the river. We stay for 10 days fishing, story telling, and if we time our trip right we go to the Car show hosted in the small town of Long Beach WA. It has a main street that old cars drive up and down and people sit out in their chairs, cops walk the beat, in fact they put in to volunteer as it is just like a street party. They have just as much fun as the watchers and drivers.
Our friends and us have gone to AZ MT, Glacier National Park, Yellowstone, and when we go south we stay at the Rincon along the road camping with hundreds of other people. My parents are gone so I don't go to Ojai anymore. My sister moved up to Forks, Wa, She loves it up there. That's about all. I have a goat and chickens and my beautiful forest and garden. They keep me busy along with my little bundle of joy granddaughter.
