Christopher's Story
Life
Married, no kids, no pets.
Building fluency in Japanese, into temples and shrines, like birdsongs.
Into QuickTime VR photography and folding bicycles.
Mild geekitis for Palm and Mac products.
School
High school:
Margret, Monica, Kara!
Nothing like finagling my way into auto shop class to rebuild an engine, cylinder head, and twin SU carbs. Motorheads are great!
The Finnish exchange student Hanna Viljanen and a Ferris wheel.
Buddy in gym class showing off how he'd gotten a knife cut from shoulder to stomach; later running into him on the West side where he had kids working for him like a scene out of Oliver Twist.
Exploding sewage at the Elk's club with Jason.
Getting stopped for parking at least three times, usually in winter.
Dancing for Marjit with Todd-o on the PU golf course at night.
Motorcyclin' with my favorite authorized Bell helmet dealer and his two-stroke Kawasaki.
Legomation with Stan the man.
Cory and Sam.
Horse-drawn hayride with Monica and plenty o' Falls City.

eer cup on the antler of a guy in a moose suit at the Cincinnati Oktoberfest, a school trip for German class.
Russ socking a jerk in the head in school.
Kirk pulling me aside, bright-eyed, to tell me the walls are breathing and it's hilarious.
Goofing off with Minh and Minh.
Would I do high school again? Are you insane?
College
Whole lotta dorm activity but for one year off-campus with Bob and John. Not a team player, so participated in nothing but classes and part-time jobs. Got a SCUBA license, for credit. Grad school went by fast and, thanks to an TAship, very cheaply!
Workplace
Newspaper delivery, Elk's club busboy, McDonald's (3 days), cafeteria staff, short order cook in 3 establishments, outdoor parking lot attendant, scrapyard worker (full-time for one semester), EFL TA, foreign lecturer in English at 2 Japanese national universities, dictionary proofreader, TOEIC item test writer, tenured assistant professor at a private Japanese university.
Military
Time spent in the National Guard, sharpshooter, Indiana Commendation Award.
