Chris's Story
Sept 2, 2018. Back in Lubbock for a quick Labor Day visit. Family in the hospital
1974 seems like so long ago and makes me feel so old. Yet, at 61 now, I still see myself as young (ok, so I am old fat and ugly - but my mind can omit those details). I suppose everyone feels the same way. I moved to Austin in 74 to attend UT (back when the top 10% meant the top 10% - not 8% or 6% with a future option. I started to work for IBM as a computer operator in 1978 and 39.5+ years ago later still work for IBM. Now a senior level World Wide Crisis Manager. Along the way I have been married 3 times, divorced twice. The last marriage was to a sweetheart of a keeper and we have 3 boys. We were married on the beach in Maui. erty Hill, Texas. My two oldest sons served in the military and were in Iraq a few times. Now they are still trying to find themselves and decide what they want to be. My youngest (at 24) is going to college (A Radio / Television / Film major and living at home for now.) He has been a real joy to raise and brought me so much love. He has stars in his eyes and wants to move to LA to be come famous. I think he might just make it, but I could be biased :-) I have traveled all over the US and parts of Mexico, France Japan, and the Philippines. I love to read - anything by Steven King, Dean Koontz, or John Grisham. By age 62/65 I hope to be retired and living in Costa Rica on the beach drinking the red stripe and fishing all day. Any suggestions.
I sent in my yearbook so the class of 74 book is mine. You can check out all the horrible things that people said to me back then (and some of the sweet things). The kids then look so much younger than the ones I see graduate now. I have not kept up with anyone from high school, so hope all of you are doing well and living your dreams.
