Christopher's Story
Life
A brief synopsis of my biography:
1.) Graduated summa cum laude graduate from NMSU with a Bachelor's and Master degree in Electrical Engineering.
2.) Upon graduation, worked 8 years in Seattle, Washington at a small software engineering startup company. Became a very avid distance runner over the 8 years here and participated in numerous 1/2 marathons, 10k races over the years. Also enjoyed participating in Seattle's huge Co-Rec Soccer League (250+ teams) playing on 3 teams. I meet many fiends through the soccer teams.
3.) Moved back to Southwest (Scottsdale, Arizona) to take an exciting opportunity with the Boeing Company. Worked there 2 years as a Software Engineer on the Apache 64-D attack helicopter.
4.) Took a new position with Motorola\General Dynamics as a Senior Software Engineer working on software defineable radios for the Navy.
5.) Engaged and married my wife, Lily Lee in 2003. Lily is a professional chef who works at Motorola in their FoodWorks catering division.
School
Most Inspirational Teachers: Mr. Lerman (Physics), Mrs. Hulsey (Chemistry), Mrs. Brittle (Chemistry II), Mr. Castetter (Microbiology), and Mr. Gaume (Calculus).
College
I attended New Mexico State University's College of Electrical and Computer Engineering. I consider these years to be some of the best and meet many life-long friends (i.e. Dan Spark...Expand for more
s, Marcos Medina, Terri Pascoe, Lina, Iwan Grau) that I still keep in contact with, attend wedddings, and even go on vacations with such. I completed my Bacelor's degree from 1986-1989 and my Masters degree from 1990-1992.
I'm currently working on my Master's in Business Adminstration on nights while working full-time at General Dynamics. It's been rewarding to date (40% complete as of 02/2006) and I'll complete the program in May 2007.
Workplace
As an undergraduate working on my Bachelor's degree, I worked a 9 month co-op at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuguerque, NM. I really enjoyed being around such brilliant engineers early in my career. I also worked a summer at ESCA (Energy Systems Computer Applications) in Seattle, Washington.
After I graduated with my Master's degree, I took a full-time position with ESCA in Seattle, Washington working on their energy management system software and database systems projects. I decided this high level applications career (computer science oriented than EE)wasn't challeging and didn't utilize my strengths as a EE, so I switched careers over into the real-time embedded software development world working for Boeing on their Apache AH-64D avionics software and working for Motorola/General Dynamics on software defineable radios. This career has been very rewarding and I'm very passionate about it.
