Thanks for stopping by! I'll just catch you up on what's been happening since... 1978? Wow.... I went to Princeton right after graduation and partyed my way out in 3 semesters. I spent a couple of years getting sober and transferred to Northwestern, graduating in 1984 with a B.S. in chemical engineering. Along the line I got the idea of becoming a professor. I knew that I had to get a doctorate, so I went to MIT. Within a year of starting grad school I was married. The marriage was horrible -- it'd make a movie that'd give Stephen King the dry heaves. Short version: she was fine when she wasn't psychotic, controlling, abusive, and violent. uck We separated after 4 years, and the divorce was final a year and a half later. It took me all told almost 9 years to get my Ph.D. The job market for faculty was very tight, though, so I ended up in one post-doc position (read: temporary underpaid research staff) after another for the following 8 years. For one of them I spent a year living/working in France. That was pretty cool. While I was at Cape I wanted to spend a year in France. It happened -- just 20 years later.
