Like many profiles I have read, I too started down a path that led me to a place I had not planned to go, but am greatful to be.

d and became my soul mate. A family followed and this brought with it a new and unique set of responsibilities. Life was cruising along, then unfortunately for me, along with the thrills of field medicine, comes the tragedy of an uncontrolable environment, where the unthinkable often becomes reality. A career ending injury occured, life came grinding to a halt. A full year of doctors, drugs and therapy brought me back from the brink and I was left with a mind full of education, a yearning to help and the need to feel useful again.
Enter the world we live in today, full of unthinkable horrors(natural and man made.) A new career opened, in the field of bio terrorism preparedness. I currently work as the Emergency Response Manager for the Village of Oak Park. Together with state and federal agencies, we are creating plans to protect, inform and enpower residents in our community.
It feels good to be of service again.
