Christopher's Story

Hi - I would have been in the class of '64 had I graduated, but my custodial father moved to Europe and enrolled me in an English speaking school in Switzerland in 1960 after I completed eighth grade in Bridgehampton. I studied abroad for two years but longed to return to the U.S. and finished my last two years at a school in New Hampshire close to where my older sister was teaching school (the tribulations of coming from a broken home). Meanwhile, with little to keep her in Bridgehampton, my mother moved to San Francisco. I followed in 1964 enrolling in the University of California, Berkeley, and graduated in '68. alifornia and Colorado, magazine editor, and public relations exec. I returned to college in '74 for an M.A. in journalism and wound up in Southern California in 1981 working in PR for an aerospace company. Married in '86, divorced in '97, no children. I later became a freelance writer in the computer field and editor of a computer magazine, then later ran a weekly newspaper. Am retired now in SoCal and serve as a full-time caregiver for my current wife with whom I've been with 10 years. Life is good. However, I think of my years in Bridgehampton with nostalgia and wonder what became of my friends and classmates, all of whom were such interesting characters.
