Christopher's Story
Life
After Graduation I went into the Military for eight years. I had planned to stay for 20, but after the Gulf War 1, I needed a change and I got out moved to Boise Idaho, and took a job with Micron Technology. After a year I decided to get my degree so I quit and started school full time. While I was in School, I got married. My Stepson was diagnosed with leukemia ten days after I was married.
I am now divorced and have split custody with my kids: Alan 9, Andrew 7, and Emily 6.
School
I went to three High Schools. Since I was very awkward and backward the moves were really hard on me. I don't know if I would ever want to go through that again.
College
After Getting out of the Military I went to Work at Micron for a year and then I went To Boise State University. I was rather disappointed in the world of academics. I did get a degree in Computer Information Systems. I sometimes think I should go back and get a Masters degree, but life is t...Expand for more
oo short to put myself through that stress.
Workplace
After I left the Military, I went to work at Micron Technology. After about a year, I went to School full time and held several part time jobs: Sears credit center, UPS, a print shop. Since the summer of 1997 I have been working At the Idaho State Tax Commisison in the Ifomation Technology section. For the most part I like my job, but the pay is pitiful.
Military
I spent 8 years in the Army as a 24T, Patriot Missile Mechanic. I spent the first two at FT. Bliss TX and then two in Ansbach Germany. I was having such a good time in Germany that I reenlisted for four more. When I got back to Ft. Bliss in 1990 I was lucky to get sent to the Middle east for the Gulf war one. After that the Army went through a drawdown phase and I needed a change so I got out.
I did serve for two years with the 6228th Reserve unit in Boise, Idaho. I probably would have stayed in but they disbanded the unit in 1996.
