Christopher's Story
Attended Westmoor Highschool/Terra Nova High School from Sep 1958 to approximately 1960, and then transferred to Camden High School in San Jose. Graduated from Camden High School on 14Jun62 and went into Marine Corps bootcamp the following day, and retired after 20 years in 1982. Spent two wonderful years in Viet Nam at Chu Lai, Da Nang, and a few other little bases as an Air Support Electronics Operator and radar operator. Viet Nam was the high point of my life, looking back on it. The country and the people were beautiful, although the weather was terribly hot and humid. Went to University of Wisconsin at Superior for a couple of years, studying for a Bachelor of Fine Arts (only completed 2yrs, so need to do two more) in photography and oils. Moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 1987 and retired there in 2005. Married twice, this last time for 32 years now. I like Harley-Davidson moto...Expand for more
rcycles, and metal-detecting and occasionally gold prospecting.Got sick with my muscles (Guillain Barre Syndrome) and gave the Fat Boy to my son Mike before I learned to ride it. I guess I am too easily intimidated these days. I was worried that I would never be able to pick up the bike if I dropped it. I should go back to school here in Anchorage, Alaska to try to finish up my degree in fine art, at the University of Alaska, Anchorage, but that's in the future yet, in an as yet unwritten story... It's now August 2010 and I am in Okinawa, Japan with my wife Yoko seeing her father who had a stroke. Will be happy to be back home in Alaska, although I don't know when. Been here since March of this year. Would love to get back to my hobbies of prospecting for gold (haven't found my first nugget yet, with my metal detectors, but it's fun trying, with one eye out for grizzly bears haha.
