I moved to Oakmont in 1962 from Verona. I was not happy about having to move and was not a stellar student. Back then I took non-performance to an art form. The only teachers I did not drive crazy were Arthur Erbe, Howard Squib, and Katherine Miller. Each had a significant impact in my future successes because they had mastered the ability to demonstrate caring. In-spite of those teachers, at graduation, I was in the 50th percentile of the bottom 10% of our graduating class. High School was not a highlight in my life. Though accepted into Medical School and later for a PhD I passed those opportunities. 15 years after I earned my Masters Degree and the university had published my thesis I finally learned to read. The summer my family came to Oakmont I visited Yellowstone National Park and decided to live in the mountains. Eight years later I was living in Lovell, Wyoming. Then I was in Park City, Utah for 20 years. (in the mountains with occasionally 6 feet of snow in the drive way). Now I'm in a quiet mountain valley community south of Park City. During my seventeen years a teacher- I taught the two groups who know all there is to know about everything - Ph.D.s and Jr. High School Kids.
