Chuck's Story
Life
After high school I went to college and to college and to college. Finally I decided I'd had enough of that and figured I'd better learn how to make a real living. Radio and TV had a definite lure so I went for the bright lights. It was fun eating steamed clams with Phyllis Diller and looking up to 6'8" Slim Pickins. But this was not where the money was. At least not in the engineering field that I was playing in. As I hopped from job to job mostly as a way to explore this big country of ours, I landed in Austin, TX. I loved it! Beautiful place! But I think everybody in the world loved it so the pay again wasn't good in any job there. o New Joisey, then NY, then Florida, then DC, then back to NY, then out to the high desert in Arizona. What a beautiful place is Prescott, Arizona! But now I'm in Las Vegas. More bright lights and lots to do. I try to visit the 1000 Islands once each year in the summer. Let's all stay in contact. Memories can be lots of fun!
School
I wish I'd stepped out of my shell a little earlier. It wasn't until I took a summer class at JCC that I finally found out being the class cut-up was what I should have been doing all those years.
College
I was all over the place when it finally came decision time for a college. I tried Alfred University, didn't like it, but stuck it out way too long to stay out of the draft. I finally got a degree at Grahm College in Boston in Radio and TV. I loved Boston and it sure was a glamorus job to pursue.
