Chuck's Story
School
I loved going to school in Carpentersville, it was one of the best times of my life. I think about people from high school often and with fond memories. I lived only 2 blocks from Kings Road, Perry Middle and Crown, walked to school every day for over 10 years.
College
Three stints at college, paying my own way each time, with a little help from my military benefits. Mostly worked as a bartender, cook or disc jockey. It is a good thing I didn't become a professional student, would not have survived the parties. Broadcasting school was by far the best time, and I was living my dream job. Actually got a job writing commercials and being a disc jockey for a couple of years. It was great fun and I loved every minute but the pay sucks.
Workplace
After high school I was called to follow in my father's footsteps as a cook and that lead to management. After managing a number of establishments for 10 years I had the opportunity to manage in another industry, transportation. It has been over 20 years and I have been e...Expand for more
verything from operations manager to vice president. Even owned my own air freight company for 5 years. Learned computer programming along the way and that is what I do now for an air freight company in Atlanta. This is by far the best job ever!!
Video
Learned Video Editing on my own with some help from friends at the Adobe forum. Had the opportunity to write two books, edit videos professionally, and have an amazingly popular web site dedicated to video and photo editing - muvipix.com
In between the Army (1976 - 1978) and working for my parents (1978 - 1979) I met my wife of 31 years (in August 2010). We have 4 wonderful children now (2010) ages 27, 26, 23 and 9 (yes, 9). We have lived in Wisconsin, Minnesota for 20 years, and now Georgia, we love it here. Criss is the love of my life and I don't know what I would do without her. And without her I would probably be dead by now. She is a true blessing and a gift from God, I thank Him for her every day.
