Cindi's Story
School
Hi Everyone!
I joined classmates recently to possibly connect with people I knew back then. I attended from late 69 - mid 73. I wasn't one to actually attend many of my classes. I usually found things more interesting with the group that hung out at the post cafeteria. I was able to adopt a few friends that did attend classes and pretty much followed the rules. I was pretty niave and thought the world had more things to teach me so that's where I (and my other friends) went. For these reasons, I can't recall much of those years or many of my classmates. So if you knew me back then, say Hello.
Life is opposite now, but with the help and assistance of many of life's lessons and hard knocks along the way.
College
Well, after several years of other interests, I began to attend a l;ocal Community College in Maryland. My father retired 2 years after I left Furth, in 75, and that's when I moved back home to live with them. arried in 80. I came across a Federally funded Nursing Program in Baltimore and finally graduated as a Nurse. I have since attended several other colleges and universities. I am actually "officially" taking classes online now, trying to attain a Masters' , but the books fit real well on my shelf so are seldom moved. I now, actually enjoy and look forward to learning, I just haven't mastered the ability to fit it into my busy life. So, I have been working on the RN to MSN, MBA since 1995.
Military
Altho my father was a recruiter when I was a child, only my brothers enlisted. I missed the way of life, but since I've settled in the Baltimore/Washington D.C. area, I've become accustomed to civilian life. I live 2 miles from Ft. Meade and 17 miles from Wash D.C., so I haven't strayed far. I have had several jobs within the Military Health System, so my having been an Army-Brat has come in handy.
My nephew was commissioned last year as a 2Lt. and was just sent to Iraq 2 weeks ago, so the military-civilian link survives.
