Cindi's Story
Life
Most of you will not remember who I am as I was the quiet one in the back of the room with my face in a book. Some of you may remember me later as the girl at the party pissed out of her mind; I certainly lost my way in high schoolÂ
While many of you were celebrating your high school graduation, I was in the hospital giving birth to my first daughter. I married young and then left the marriage when I was seven months pregnant with my second daughter. I embarked upon the life of a single mother, working full time and going to school at night.
I few years later I met the man of my dreams and I followed him to Calgary in 1989. A few years later, my third daughter arrived followed closely by my one and only son. I was living the suburban dream as a stay at home mom with the minivan and car seats. In 1996 we moved to the BC lower mainland. I continued to stay home until my youngest was in school and then decided to fix my biggest regret in life, I went back to school to get a degree. After school I began working as a computer programmer but it did not take long to become bored with the lack of challenge, so I tried several different jobs in computer technology. Finally, I landed in my ...Expand for more
current job which I love. I work in a program that retrains injured workers and people with disabilities to work in Information Technology. The job is challenging, rewarding and really helps people change their lives.
My two oldest daughters returned to Prince George when they were teenagers and have continued to live there. Between them they have made me the grandmother of five. There is not much to tell about them other than they are busy raising families.
My youngest daughter is a brilliant athlete and a fabulous student. She competes for Canada on the national team in the sport of tumbling and trampoline. She gets great grades and is looking to university in a few years.
My son is a gifted student that has had straight AÂs in school every year. He is involved in a lot of sports including hockey, baseball, golf, skiing, track and field, basketball, football and anything else he and his friends decide might be fun. He also an amazing musician playing both guitar and piano every spare moment he has.
I recently became single but really enjoying life and looking forward to what the future has coming. I am still working on my degree but have lots of time to get it done. Life is good...
