Paul (Pete)'s Story

Life I was born in Palmyra and went to school there from 1957 until 1968 when we moved. Then I went to Central Dauphin East Jr. High from Jan. 1968 and the Central Dauphin High school until the Fall of 1968 when we moved again. Then I attended Cedar Creat high School for a short time and once again we moved and I ended up attending Manheim Central High School. I didn't graduate from Manheim Central. I left in 1970 and inlisted in the Army. In Feb. 1972 the Army swore me in and started my training at Fort Dix, New Jersey. I am married and have 2 daughters and 2 sons and 1 grandson. My oldest daughter Holly graduated from Elizabethtown Area High School and My other daughter Nicole and my 2 sons Paul & Shane have graduated from Palmyra Area High School. My grandson graduated from Elizabethtown High School.. I now live back in Palmyra with my 2nd wife (Patricia) and 2 of my children. My youngest son moved out on his own in the Fall of 2011, He moved to Florida and is now in Washington, DC. And as spring this year now he lives in VA.. Can't keep up with him. Pete Swanger How to deal with stress, well lets see. Put me out on the River in my boat with my Mp3 player and I can forget all my problems. The people from my past who I'd most like to see again is Dennis White,Barry Shenberger, Howard Herchelroth., because we hung out alot and I haven't seen or heard from them in over 35 years.. What did I learn from my kids? How to grow Gray Hair, get nerves of steel, and experience the Joys of parenthood. Now I know what my parents went threw all those years. If I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to my children, then spend the rest on traveling, classic cars and hunting & fishing. My current age is 61.. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old. I was so completely right. My best friend would tell you I'm a total nut case, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a total nut case.. I share my home with my wife and 2 kids,, 3 Dogs and 1 cat, which I find is why I'm a total nut case.. 1st one is my beautiful wife. Then there was when I helped coach my oldest daughte...Expand for more
rs baseball team. When I started we went from near last to winning the championship. I also got a few trophies for my biggest fish I caught one year. Two from the fish commision, and 1 from a tackle store and there was another one from another year. My first job was at 12, where I got paid $1.00hr to pick up rocks in farm fields. What I remember most about it is unloading them, we would through them in a pit while trying to brake the limbs off of trees.. Getting caught in the neighbors bushes with my neighbor girl and getting my nuckles smacked with a large spoon with some tomato sauce on it, looked like I was bleeding and it hurt like H*** I was like 8 or 9. Memories:) Hunting and Fishing, and I love my dogs just like they are my kids. I take them just about every where I go. My biggest surprise,That I'd have 4 beautiful children and that I'm still alive after 60 years of abuse to this old body. If I knew I'd live this long I would have taken better care of it, but it still gets me around. I got to learn I'm not young anymore. My wife bought me an atv to use hunting and I rolled it twice in the first few months. The second one will leave a scar for the rest of my life. That 2 inch pinetree limb left some good scapes as I was rolling down the mountain. Oh well I guess it could have been worse. Miss Turnbaugh. She was the only I really liked. Well all the boys liked her. She was the HOT teacher. Oh well boys will be boys. To be truely happy, well lets see. Can't say that on here, they' would probably kick me off::) My first crush-- was Edith Pringle. from Central Dauphin East Jr High School. First girl I ever kissed, but I messed that one up, guess it was all just part of growing up. Working in a plating plant. The 2 old ladies on first shift were always leaving little items on the work table for the girl and me when we came in for second shift. These old ladies were a hand full, but I loved them like they were family. In 10 years, I hope to be alive. I'm going to get there by hiding my wife's gun.. My dad takeing me fishing and hunting. Wish he would have lived longer. He passed away Christmas morning in 1967 when I was 15.
