Cindy's Story
Life
I got my BA in Psychology from Simpson University here in Redding in 1999. I am now working with at risk youth in group homes. We do a lot of behavioral management and get them ready for the real world. It's a real mission field right here in America. My oldest daughter, Tory, graduated high school and is attending Shasta College. She wants to pursue a career in music and advertising. My son, Tevin, just made the freshman basketball team at Enterprise high school. Courteney, my 11-year-old, is on the "shooting stars" singing and dance team and just finished her 3rd year of cheering for the Enterprise Jr. Hornets. My 2-year-old likes to color on everything and keeps me on my toes. I am adopting a 14-year-old boy named, Devante. He has been a friend of my son's for awhile and has come against difficult circumstances with his parents. We all still go to Bethel Church and we love it.
School
There's a whole lot of moments that I remember that are great ones. One of my favorite memories was when we were on senior sneak and a bunch of us were on the roof talking about what and where we would be in about 10 years. We joked and made up scenarios for people and it was nice. Then, there's the funny memory of Stephanie Young and myself being on the roof with Mark Perry (of the houseboat) and we were supposed to be on separate house ...Expand for more
boats at night (boys and girls) and me and Stephanie hid in the chest that holds life jackets just to see if we could get away with not being caught. Does anyone remember how sunburnt Michelle and I were on our back side?
Basketball seasons were my favorite. I was either cheering or keeping the book for games and just really enjoyed it. Remember when we went to state our senior year and met some of the Elkton boys? Then a couple of us stayed in touch with them for a while. Dan Coble even came to see me graduate, ahhh.
Remember all the hide and seek games and ditch when we were freshman and sophomores. Especially, the one we played on the night of JSB? We played where if you find someone you hide with them. So, by the time the game was done, there were like 20 kids in one closet.
One of my favorite teachers was Mom Wall. She was the kindest and nurturing person you could find. Her husband, dad Wall, was great too! I liked all of my teachers . . . Miss Roberge, Roger, Mr. Mc Kirdy, Mr. and Mrs. Dunbar, Helen Dunbar, Mr. Thompson, and Bruce in the kitchen, Miss Kessi, and Mr. and Mrs. Jones.
Does anyone remember Stephanie Albertson asking Mr. Mc Kirdy "Who does your hair?" Or Michelle Yaegar when talking about advertisements saying "oh what a feeling" was the Taco Bell add (it was Toyotos). Well, I could go on and on . . .
