Cindy's Story
Life
I left Bellflower in 1997 and moved myself and 3 kids to Northern California to the wine country. We now live in a beautiful large home in the country. My oldest son now lives in Petaluma and is an avid musician. His band just released their 2nd CD. They signed with SOS Records and have gone on tour all over the US. My two younger kids, son and daughter, still live at home. My daughter is into Equisterian riding and my son is a typical teen, skateboarding and mountian biking, and of course....video games. He's just decided to pick up playing guitar himself, so it looks like I'll have another musician in the family. I am married to a terrific guy, and we enjoy the finer things in life which include taking long rides through Sonoma County and visiting all our wonderful local winery's, and travel. My favorite place to stay and play in is New York City. Since we have family that live there locally, we are able to take in the what the city has to offer. Penthouse view! Times Square!! Write me. **UPDATE** Since writing my story new things have transpired. My oldest son, John has decided to end his 6 years relationship with his girlfriend move on to his own place. He now lives in San Jose renting a small home. New life and new start for him. He's doing well. My son David has decided that after HS Graduation he is going to technical school with Wyotech. He's always admired the hot rods that we see here around Sonoma County, and he's always wanted to know how to restore and to customize these old cars. Now he has an opportunity. Thanks to one of his teachers who had seen a gift that David possesses. Now he will learn it all. He's very excited for this opportunity to learn his love of cars. Hopefully someday you'll bring your cherished clunker to David, and allow him to do his magic. He's quite the artist, and has a keen since of style.
UPDATE: Oldest Son is now married. Middle child, Son, has moved to Austin Texas. He graduated Tech school with honors, and is doing a fine job at refabrication of cars. My youngest, daughter, is gradu...Expand for more
ated 6 years, works with Canine's, training, caretaker, at a boarding facility locally. She loves it, and of course loves dogs! She and her fiance are building a home here locally. The family has a local ranch/vineyard, so she will be living in the serene tranquility of a vineyard. The home should be completed sometime this summer.
Workplace
I began my true working career working in Dominguez Valley emergency room. After leaving California to move to the east coast, I became interested in the dental field. I was trained on the job there, and really loved the work. Since moving back to California I settled in a job working with my dentist I've had since I was 6. I worked there for 14 years. I attended many continuing education courses and expanded my capabilities as an assistant. With all the new advances in dentistry I had to keep up on the new products. Before long the dentist was sending me to various classes to learn new techniques. After 10 years of standing on my feet all day, I had decided to take on the responsibility of pushing paper. The last 4 years of my employment there was taking on the entire business office details, such as finances, payroll, and taxes. Since leaving Bellflower, I have settled again at a practice in Santa Rosa. I still push paper, but it keeps me busy and my mind ticking!
UPDATE Career:
In 2007 I was offered a position in a growing Orthodontic practice and new doctor in our County. It was not hard to decide to make this move, as this was an open door for me to expand my knowledge of the Dental field. I started out as the Financial Coordinator, and doing a lot of the accounting for this Orthodontist with quickbooks. As time progressed, I was handed a management position overseeing the new locations for our practice. 13 years later I am the Director of Finance for a multiple location Orthodontic Corporation. We now have two dental offices as well. We are up as far north as Ukiah/Willits area, and as far south as Soledad. I have learned so much in my years working with this Corporation, and I'm here for long run until I retire.
